EDUCATION RESOURCES FOR HOME SCHOOLING
Across the globe, more than 1.5 billion children are currently not attending school due to nationwide and localised school closures in efforts to control the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, that number is expected to increase as more countries shut schools indefinitely.
As the global community continues to grapple with the challenges of the current pandemic, the unique problems posed by long-term school closures will likely be significant for students from underserved and marginalised communities. Many schools have begun to adapt and implement distance learning solutions. However, the majority of students worldwide have been left without distance learning infrastructure and connectivity, relevant approved digital content and hardware. Provisional solutions can and should be designed for both the digitally connected and those digitally isolated.
As an early emergency response, the Innovation Development Directorate at EAA will continue to create materials to continue the learning journey. The resources are designed for NGOs, schools, educators, parents and students in the nearly half of global households that are not connected and for those that have moved to online-schools to supplement their learning.
IDD is researching into and understanding and sharing best practices on how we are connecting with the harder to reach, digitally more isolated communities through alternate means. If you're part of an NGO or school please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or complete the online form through this link.
